The mudslides in California on Monday night destroyed many homes and even killed at least 13 people. Some scientists pointed out that the reason for this incident was due to the severe wildfire in December. The structure of the burned soil will become different and absorb less water than usual. Moreover, there is less rocks, vegetation to block the water, so the mud and flood slides even faster. Therefore, the issue of climate change is important, since it causes more severe wildfires and mudslides.
