International Conference of Chief Justices of the World, sponsored by India’s City Montessori School (CMS), was held in Lucknow, India from November 10 through 14, 2017. This is the 18th time the conference being held starting from 2001. Through the years, the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy, together with the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) and the Association of World Citizens (AWC), have been putting tremendous efforts to promote love and peace around the globe. This time, during the session of the Chief Justice Conference, they specially held a forum, Young Generation’s Conscience Creates World Peace, for the junior high students. In the forum, topics about taxpayer’s human rights, cultures, conscience, and qualities of world citizens are freely discussed.
In his keynote speech, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, Zan-Men-Ren of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy, encouraged all CMS teachers and students: “I want to congratulate all of you, because you care about and understand the importance of love and peace has to the world at such young age.” Dr. Hong also encouraged the students: “Looking at the sincere and lovely smiles of students of the City Montessori School (CMS), I feel that Dr. Jagdish Gandhi has created an excellent environment for you to learn and grow; you are the hope for the future. Remember you are very important! As long as you have a pure and sincere heart, you can change yourself and change this world. When your heart is filled with energy, you can do a lot of things with ease. And your conscience will make you do the things right.” Dr. Hong also explained the meaning of conscience: “Conscience in Chinese is called Lian Hsin. Lian means fantastic and Hsin means heart. So simply put, Conscience is to have a fantastic heart. We people all born with conscience; so every one of us was born to have a fantastic heart. We share ideas together and when reach a consensus, we can cooperate together and help one another, and finally our wish for a beautiful and peaceful world will come true.”
While in the quincentenary of Martin Luther Protestant Reformation, Lin Yu-Chen, a FOWPAL volunteer and also a Tai Ji Men Dizi, shared what she felt about this visit to India: “Martin Luther bravely stood up for righteousness and fought against the Church selling atonement vouchers, his efforts brought great influence on the value of faith throughout Europe 500 years ago. And today I come here for conscience, for human rights, for justice, and more importantly for peace.” Lin Yu-Chen, a student from the Shih Chien University, deeply understand the preciousness of peace: “It can be so small that no one can find its existence; but, at the same time, it can be huge enough to effect every single molecule in the universe.” Lin joined FOWPAL at the age of 10, she and many others then follows Dr. Hong to promote the Movement of An Era of Conscience and Taxpayer’s Human Rights, during which she received many international friends. All the warm feedbacks or a moment of spiritual exchange had become the moment of eternity. One action after another and the responses of those have become one touching story after another, powers of love, and the momentums and courage to keep moving forward.
Lu Yu-An, a freshman from the Kaohsiung Medical University, shared his experience where he and a group of international volunteers, during the UN’s General Assembly in New York, brought the Bell of World Peace and Love to New York, and held ceremony after ceremonies of Ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love. Lu said: “You may have doubt what could be changed by simply ringing the bell? In fact, it represents a commitment for love and peace. Every commitment for peace can have great influence especially in the critical moment of the world.” Lu further explained that the President of the Sao Tome and Principe gave amnesty to the rebel army to preserve the stability of his country, because he made a wish for “every child of the world can have smile” when rang the bell of peace. The former president of the Republic of Dominica used his wisdom to mediate Columbia, Ecuador, and Venezuela to stop an imminent war and as a result preserve the peace in Latin America. Former president of Senegal, Wade, made possible the peace treaty between Chad and Sudan, which avoided numerous casualties of wars. All the students in the forum listened very carefully and intrigued, their eyes were shining, and many of them said that they will also make efforts for peace.
Principal of CMS, Abha Anant said he appreciates this event very much; being through this kind of exchange, students will begin to trust themselves, trust that they are warriors. The volunteers’ sharing to them are like giving them the power to explore the world; the volunteers spread the messages of love, peace, and cooperation which have made them mentally stronger. I feel happy about that. Sushama Rajkumar from CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II also shared that when the volunteers tell the students: “You are the future!” Students will have beauty and viture in their minds, and they become to believe that they can change the world, and they can change the world into a perfect place filled with love, kindness, and peace.
