According to astronomy, the full moon means the Earth, moon, and sun are parallel to each other and the moon is closest to the Earth at a distance of 356,907 kilometers (221,772 miles). Thus, the moon shines larger and brighter than usual, which is called the supermoon.

This April’s supermoon is also referred to as a super pink moon due to the beautiful Phlox subulata flowers, also known as moss pink, which bloom in early spring in northern America. Two full moons appear in the same month is named as a blue moon.

The super pink moon of 2020 shows up in the night sky on April 8. Meanwhile, it is quite interesting in 2020 that there will be one blue moon on October 1 and the other on October 31. The spectacle of a supermoon is always a good opportunity for astronomers and folks to have some fun and learn.
