TV episode “Big Brother” this season follows 14 men and women living together in Germany for 100 days without contact from the outside world. Their house is filled with 28 cameras and 60 microphones to track down every move of theirs 24 hours a day. The current German TV show began on February 10, with contestants locked inside the house in Cologne and knowing nothing about the Coronavirus pandemic while Covid-19 has spread to millions of people in every continent except Antarctica.

On the night of March 17, the host of “Big Brother” in Germany Jochen Schropp and the show’s doctor Andreas Kaniewsk were behind protective glass and informed the contestants of the worldwide crisis about the Coronavirus pandemic. The houseguests were shown some news clips of Germany and Italy. Most of the housemates looked shocked. Some erupted into tears.

Similarly, contestants of “Big Brother” in Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Italy were recently informed of the Coronavirus pandemic. After contestants did learn about the deadly pandemic, they have decided and chosen to remain on the show. One contestant even said it was “the best quarantine that exists.”
