On May 8, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani threatened to stop obeying the JCPOA in 2015 if Europe failed to help Iran go through U.S. sanctions. Rouhani said its Arak heavy water nuclear reactor, producing plutonium for nuclear weapons, will start operation if EU takes no action 60 days later. Rouhani also mentioned the nuclear deal needed a surgery to survive; painkiller pills were not enough to cease the poor situation.
In fact, U.S. sanctions are like rubbing salt into Iran’s poor economy, and its oil is prohibited to sell to the global market, which put its 80 million people into suffering more poverty. Civilians in Iran hope for better life instead of suffering from sanctions.
England and France don’t agree to Iran’s resuming higher enrichment of uranium.
The White House dispatched an aircraft carrier and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf to face the threat from Iran. Of course, Israel is the last to be happy about Iran’s owning an atomic weapon.
Iran declared its nuclear development is mainly for peaceful purposes, but the drums of war will be heard again if Europeans choose to sanction Iran under the pressure from the U.N.
