An anonymous CIA officer filed a formal complaint with the Inspector General on August 12 and alleged the US President Donald Trump called to push Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25 to invest Robert Hunter Biden. Mr. Biden, the son of former US Vice President Joe Biden, was serving on the board of Ukrainian natural gas producer Burisma Holdings right then. The 7-page complaint ultimately has triggered House Democrats to launch their impeachment inquiry into President Trump of abusing his power to solicit interference from Ukraine in the 2020 presidential election.
President Trump dismissed any wrongdoing and defended his phone call as perfect. In addition, the White House released a 5-page transcript of President Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukraine President Zelensky on September 25. The 5-page transcript is only a summary. It is not verbatim. It showed President Trump asked a favor of the Ukrainian leader to launch an investigation into Joe Biden and his son. The spokesperson for Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Shaylyn Hynes, also admitted Secretary Perry has encouraged President Trump to make the July 25 phone call on discussing energy and economic issues.
As the House impeachment inquiry is escalating, scrutiny continues with a 2nd whistleblower described as an intelligence official who has spoken with the Inspector General. The original whistleblower was represented by Attorney Mark Zaid. Most recently he announced that he is also representing the 2nd whistleblower. Attorney Zaid also claimed the 2nd whistleblower has had first-hand evidence in impeaching President Trump.
