United States President Donald Trump received a warm letter from North Korea leader Kim Jong Un on June 11. President Trump would like to offer another talk with Mr. Kim in the future.

President Trump mentioned that he received this letter on June 10. This was the first interaction with Mr. Kim since the February meetings in Hanoi. It was not a successful meeting. President Trump did not reveal the content in the letter. He told the reporters that it was a “beautiful” letter. He still had the great hope to discuss denuclearization with Mr. Kim, probably part of the topics in the third summit.

The tension between the United States and North Korea was not positive after months of tough times in diplomacy. The letter from Mr. Kim was a turning point to develop another possible communication. The letter did not mention the testing nuclear weapon and the cancellation of the communication.

They have been communicating by letters before. However, the purpose of writing letters from North Korea has been questioned by lawmakers. Trump administration still attempted to find ways to keep the communication channel with North Korea. Even though North Korea has been testing the short-range ballistic missile recently, President Trump just made light of this test.
