A French high school student lied to her father, which led to a tragic ending for her history teacher, Samuel Paty. She deceived her father into asserting the teacher’s “discrimination” to cover her misbehavior. Samuel Paty, father of a five-year-old boy, was killed by an Islamist terrorist on his way home ten days later.
The 13-year-old student, known as Z, lied to her father that the teacher showed an illustration of the naked Prophet and asked the Muslim students to leave during the class. The outraged father posted the accusations online, denouncing the teacher’s misdeed. Due to the power of social media, snowballed issue reached Abdoullakh Abouyedovich Anzorov, a radicalised 18-year-old Russian boy, and resulted in the murder of Samuel Paty. Anzorov was killed by police later on.
In the court, Z admitted her lying of the allegation; both she and her father were on criminal charges. Mbeko Tabula, Z’s lawyer, pointed out that Z should not carry the blame for the teacher’s death. Instead, it was her father’s fault that spread the message and caused the 47-year-old teacher’s death.
