115 Students Are Quarantined in Nakuru County of Kenya

Kariuki Gichuki, Nakuru County Health Services Executive Committee Member, published a statement on November 5th, saying that there are 115 students in quarantine, and one even developed complications; the students and teachers are being monitored in isolation and quarantine at the school. Over the past week, 35 teachers and 17 students tested positive for Covid-19, and two teachers died in Kenya.

 

Nakuru County Health Department has been developing Covid-19 prevention and management in education institutions, aiming at teachers, non-teaching staff and students in all schools across the county.

 

President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, announced on November 4th that Kenyan schools will be completely reopened in January 2021; new measures to fight for the increasing coronavirus cases were put forward.

 

By November 4th, there were 58,587 Covid-19 cases, 38,381 recoveries and 1,051 deaths in Kenya.
