Amnesty International will fight for the human right of attending a Jerusalem hearing for its campaigner, Laith Abu Zeyad. The hearing is to be held on May 31. Israeli government restricted his travel for Israel and Palestine possibly because of he’san advocacy activist.
In September 2019, Israeli authorities banned Abu Zeyad to enter occupied East Jerusalem. He planned to bring his mother to the nearby hospital for cancer treatment. However, the hospital is in barrier area and needs a permit to enter. Israeli authorities also refused his travel permit to Jordan for a relative’s funeralin October 2019. Now, Abu Zeyad cannot even attend his own lawsuit in Jerusalem.
These years, Israeli authorities use all possible ways, including travel ban, to silent international human rights promotersby undisclosed reasons. If there are no further condemnations worldwide, this organized rights misuse will not stop.
