On the morning of June 29th, the vessel Morning Bird hit the ferry Mayur-2 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, causing at least 32 people dead. According to Shah Jamal, the local police chief, the vessel sank in only 20 seconds. Among the bodies which were found, 8 women and 3 kids were included.

The coastguard spokesman, Hayet Ibne Siddiqu, indicated that there were at least 50 people on the vessel. As a consequence, the rescue team still worked hard on searching for the rest of the people. Nonetheless, one of the survivors pointed out that there were at least 100 passengers on the vessel.

With more than 230 rivers in the nation, Bangladesh was notorious for its poor safety of the boats. The excess of the people, the slack of the security rule, and the poor maintenance of the boats led to the vessel accidents, said by the experts. After the Bangladesh government restrained the inappropriate ships, the total number of boat accidents declines.
