Pasadena, CA — On June 9, the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in Pasadena celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival with a vibrant health seminar, inviting community members to immerse themselves in the joy of making zongzi, traditional rice dumplings. The event, which drew over 50 guests from various ethnic backgrounds, including both adults and children, offered a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in the rich cultural tradition of wrapping sticky rice dumplings in bamboo leaves. For many Chinese attendees, it was their first experience making zongzi, adding to the cheerful and communal atmosphere.

The seminar went beyond cultural immersion, as Tai Ji Men members from diverse professions shared personal stories of how practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong has positively impacted their lives. Tim, a music education Ph.D., recounted how qigong practice not only improved his health but also helped him overcome jet lag during a recent 16-day business and leisure trip to Europe. By balancing work and relaxation, he attributed his enhanced luck and career success to the benefits of qigong.

Tim’s wife, Chiwen, who had long struggled with anxiety and palpitations, found significant relief through Tai Ji Men Qigong. After various unsuccessful treatments, a friend's recommendation led her to Tai Ji Men. Within weeks, Tim noticed substantial improvements in Chiwen’s condition, enabling her to endure long car rides without discomfort.

Lily, another Tai Ji Men member, shared her transformative journey after being diagnosed with cancer when her son was just four months old. Following Western medical treatments, she joined Tai Ji Men and experienced profound physical and mental improvements. Lily highlighted the importance of positive thinking and the benefits of qigong, expressing her joy in participating in the zongzi-making activity. Her story emphasized the significance of mental health and encouraged others to explore the positive impacts of Tai Ji Men Qigong for a healthier lifestyle.

Andy, 74, a retired vice president of a world-renowned umbrella company, shared his family’s transformative experiences with Tai Ji Men Qigong. His son, diagnosed with severe asthma at age five, saw remarkable improvement and has not had any further attacks since starting qigong. Andy himself, who suffered from a herniated disc for six years, experienced significant relief and no recurrence of pain through qigong practice. His family members also practice Tai Ji Men Qigong together, bringing them better health and wisdom.

Sheldon, a retired engineer, spoke of overcoming high stress, smoking addiction, and social isolation through qigong. Twenty years ago, he began practicing with his wife and daughters, quitting smoking and becoming more outgoing. The sudden death of a colleague from cancer deepened his appreciation for qigong’s benefits. His wife, Ru, initially attracted by Tai Ji Men’s joyful atmosphere, gained parenting wisdom through qigong practice. The family recently attended their daughter’s graduation ceremony at Harvard University, celebrating their closer bonds and improved communication. Their story exemplifies how Tai Ji Men Qigong enhances health, quality of life, and family harmony.
