Most recently, a mysterious disease broke out in Eluru of Andhra Pradesh, a state in the south-eastern coastal region of India, and caused more than 300 people hospitalized at the Government General Hospital. The outbreak of such a mysterious disease becomes trendy in social media online immediately thereafter.

Since December 5, people in Eluru, especially the children, have suddenly started vomiting after complaining of the burning sensation in the eyes. Some fainted, suffered seizures, or were hospitalized in critical condition. Most cases of the mysterious disease were from districts, including Kobbari Thota, Kothapeta, Thurpu Veedhi, and Arundhati Peta, within Eluru. Patients developed symptoms of dizziness, headache, and neurological disorder.

Reportedly over 350 people fell sick and one died due to an unknown illness. Some authorities have suspected it might be a case of water contamination. However, the water samples were tested alright. Doctors also carried out COVID-19 tests for all the patients and they were tested negative. The government officials have summoned a team of experts to investigate the mysterious disease. The situation has been under control and reportedly all patients are safe now.
