EU human rights groups call for COVID-19 app transparency

During the pandemic period, contact management softwares are to apply across nations in Europe.  Nine Civil Liberties Union for Europe concern how respective authorities manage the collected information.  The human rights groups submitted freedom of information to national administrations on June 8, 2020.

 

Organizations from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden were to be sure that governments do not collect more personal data than planned. They were tofind out that the governments are following EU data protection legislation.

 

During the pandemic of coronavirus, both live savings and livings are crucial.However, mass inspection program is unnecessary and dangerous for privacy, concerned a senior human rights worker. 

 

It is important that Member States comply with General Data Protection Regulation and national data protection laws. Or otherwise, some members of the Union are considering to suit governments that violate their requests.
