On February 11 in Louisiana of US, the violent fire erupted around 11:30 p.m. at ExxonMobil Corp.’s Baton Rouge oil refinery, which ranked the 5th biggest facility in the US. The facility, located near the Mississippi River at 129 kilometers (80 miles) northwest of New Orleans, processes more than 500,000 barrels of crude a day and constitutes 15% of Louisiana’s refining capacity.

A team of specialized firefighters quickly responded to the scene. It took more than 75 firefighters about 8 hours to contain the fire. No injuries were reported.

The Baton Rouge fire is the 3rd blaze for Exxon in the Gulf Coast area in a year. It is unclear to the cause of the fire. According to Exxon’s report, the fire has been extinguished. Meanwhile, all operations proceed at the Baton Rouge refinery now.
