Kevin Cernekee, a former Google engineer employed by the tech giant for 3 years, was fired in June 2018 for multiple violations of company’s workplace policies including misuse of Google’s equipment and its remote-access software system, according to Google. However, Cernekee maintains that he was terminated for his conservative viewpoints to safeguard the rights of Google employees and to protest unfair treatment. Cernekee has also reportedly filed his complaints in unlawful discrimination and retaliation against Google with the US federal organization National Labor Relations Board.

As reported, it is noteworthy that Google had fired two other engineers, James D’Amore in 2017 and Mike Wacker in 2019, for disagreeing with the company’s political objectives. D’Amore and the other plaintiff had filed a class-action lawsuit in 2018 claiming discrimination on the basis of gender, race and political bias against the tech giant and is now in arbitration with Google. Google also put engineer Greg Coppola on administrative leave after he spoke with Project Veritas, which released on June 24 an undercover video showing Google’s artificial intelligence technology to interfere with search results, censor conservative views, and even directly manipulate facts in the name of fairness to defeat Donald Trump in 2020, about the bias in Google News.

A study released on September 6, 2018, by the Washington Examiner, an American political journalism website and weekly magazine based in Washington, D.C., published an astonishing result that 94% of political donations by Google, YouTube, and other subsidiaries of Alphabet in 2016 had gone to Democrats. The report links a series of alleged bias of anti-conservative circulating around Google. The Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on the Constitution hearing entitled “Google and Censorship through Search Engines”, was held on July 16, 2019, while Republican lawmakers criticized Google during the hearing and seriously questioned bias against conservatives and censorship of conservative groups on its platforms.

Recently Cernekee went public and spoke up with details in the political harassment he had been experienced from Google. Cernekee also told reporters that Google will make an attempt to influence the outcome of the 2020 US Presidential Election at every level of the organization to prevent President Donald Trump from being reelected.
