Ecuador, a country with the most diverse natural landscapes in the world, is home to the famous Amazon Rainforest, Andes Mountains, and Galápagos Islands. Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, President of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) and the Zhang-men-ren (leader) of Tai Ji Men, led the FOWPAL delegation on a cultural goodwill visit to Ecuador at the invitation of Ms. Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, former President of Ecuador and President of the Fundación para la Integración y Desarrollo de América Latina (FIDAL). Ecuador became the 110th country visited by the delegation as part of FOWPAL’s global peace journey. On October 1, the delegation visited the FIDAL Foundation and held ceremonies of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love, during which Ecuador’s Minister of Labor, Ivonne Núñez, and Minister of Against Malnutrition, Maria de Lourdes Muñoz, rang the bell and made wishes for peace.

Dr. Hong and the delegation shared FOWPAL’s global peace journey and the importance of love and peace in today's world with former Ecuadorian President Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, Minister of Labor Ivonne Núñez, Minister of Against Malnutrition Maria de Lourdes Muñoz, and more than forty attendees.

Minister of Labor Ivonne Núñez rang the Bell and expressed her wish: “All human beings must work to build peace in the world, so that societies develop fully and allow their inhabitants to have the security, work, and love that we all need.” Minister of Against Malnutrition Maria de Lourdes Muñoz, also rang the Bell, wishing for a world free from malnutrition. She emphasized that peace begins when children can play, share, and care for one another.

Recognizing the critical role of love and peace in a sustainable world, FOWPAL has been tirelessly promoting the culture of love, peace, and conscience around the globe. In October 2024, their cultural visit to South America began in Ecuador. Former President Rosalía Arteaga Serrano had previously attended the Fifth International Day of Conscience celebration hosted by FOWPAL in New York and California, USA, this April. She also rang the Bell of World Peace and Love and made a wish at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, stating that she, as a lifelong educator, firmly believes in the need for collaboration to improve the quality of education and promote peace through education. She emphasized the importance of instilling in children and young people the value of peace, both in their hearts and minds, underscoring how important peace is for everyone.

She emphasized that “I feel about the power of FOWPAL to move the conscience of different people in the world, especially in countries like my country.” She noted that the world is currently facing numerous challenges, including violence, wars, suicide, and domestic abuse, all of which are detrimental to society. In light of these difficulties, she praised FOWPAL’s efforts to improve people's quality of life through peace and positive actions, stating, “We need more and more leaders like Mr. Hong.” She also praised FOWPAL for promoting love and peace to improve people’s quality of life.
