The UK government announced that the regulation regarding freedom of movement would end immediately if Brexit takes effect on October 31. However, PM Boris Johnson claimed that UK would still remain a friendly stance to the immigrants.

This alternation will influence the right for EU citizens when they arrive at UK. A Liberal Democratic MP said, “This alternation is careless and irresponsible.”

Under Theresa May, there are two plans to cope with the regulation for Brexit. One plan is to extend the regulations until January 2021. Another plan is to allow EU citizens to legally stay for three months before they apply for the valid permission to stay.

However, PM Boris Johnson rejected these two plans. He seemed to seek a new approach for the following stage to have a strict regulation regarding the freedom of movement.

Spokesperson of Home office states that the freedom of movement will end on October 31 if UK leaves EU. After Brexit, the UK government will propose a new and fairer immigration policy. Experts with special skills who can contribute to UK will be taken into the priority consideration.

Mr. Johnson’s spokesperson said the new immigration policy will include stricter criminality rules. The new immigration policy will be released to the public once the regulation has been ruled.
