The UK's divisional court adjudicated that the government is not allowed to issue general warrants for computer hacking, according to s.5 Intelligence Services Act 1994.
Conor Monighan is a writer of UK Human Rights Blog and a pupil at 5 Essex Court. According to his 3 topics, they are: first, what warrants, either thematic or general, should the Secretary of State issue? General warrants are applied to specific group of people or act, like ‘all computers in London’? Second, should the court agree to revise the act in order to involve the accusation before Feb. 2015? Third, if the court agrees to revise, how about the new reasons?
He also indicated the current warrant permits the possibilities of computer hacking legally, which is still not rejected by the court.
