The coronavirus pandemic has reportedly spread to 188 countries with more than 32 million confirmed cases. According to Johns Hopkins University's latest statistics, more than 1 million people across the world have died since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Health experts warn the US might spike in coronavirus infection cases as fall and winter set in while the country surpassed 7 million coronavirus cases on September 25.

Meanwhile, as global coronavirus death toll has reached 1 million, the UN Secretary General António Guterres warned September 28 that that it was crucial for the international community to learn from the mistakes made in the first 10 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Guterres emphasized that responsible leadership matters, science matters. cooperation matters, and misinformation kills.

From the report by Johns Hopkins University, we know there are nearly half the total death tolls in the US, Brazil, and India. Some researchers are worried about the surging numbers of new infections in many regions. Experts are trying every effort to develop an effective vaccine, but under the stress of double the death toll before one is widely available.
