Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an intergovernmental body of the United Nations dedicated to providing the world with a view of climate change and possible response options, recently announced a report regarding global warming. As their title serves, Global Warming of 1.5°C, the temperature is now 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

As the global surface temperature rises, people on earth are experiencing more and more extremes such as heavy rainfall, drought and heat waves. Over the past 30 years, the trend has shown apparent warming; besides, the recorded nine warmest years have occurred since 2005.

Why is it necessary to keep the global temperature increase under 1.5°C? As the speed of global warming goes faster and faster every year, more and more species will become extinct, thus the food chain begins to alter. As a result, this will eventually limit our food resources.

In brief, IPCC called upon the world to adopt sustainable agriculture. In addition, we should cultivate multiple crops to fertilize and protect the soil.
