The floods in Turkey and Russia have been caused by the heavy rain around the Black Sea on August 11. Due to the severe flood in Turkey, there were 57 deaths. In this torrential rain people in Russia are also influenced.

Bartin, Kastamonu and Sinop were among the affected provinces of Turkey. Turkish disaster agency AFAD has reported that at least five bridges and roads were damaged, houses demolished and the electricity shutdown in some villages. The teams of the rescue and sniffing dogs looked for people painfully.

Ilyas Kalabalik, 42, Bozkurt resident, said that it was out of power. Without a dead cell phone you couldn't obtain information.

The flood nearly washed away the village of Babacay in Sinop Province. A structure built on the riverbed was completely destroyed. Hundreds of people were still missing, according to residents in Kastamonu province. The local government, however, stated that this was not the case.

According to Turkish experts, the unusual weather will become more intense as a result of global warming. The increased emissions were caused by natural gas and coal and oil combustion.

Despite the flood, a wildfire destroyed forests in Mugla and Antalya provinces. Tourists and locals alike must flee.
