Hottest June ever recorded on earth appeared last month with an average global temperature of 16.4C (61.6F). The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) provided the data. They also stated that the average global temperature was 0.6C (1.7F) warmer than the 20th century average of 13.5C (56.4F).

Places such as South America, Mexico, southern portion of Africa, Madagascar, New Zealand, Alaska, eastern Asia, western Canada, the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Bering Sea were experiencing the hottest first half of year. As the temperature rises, sea ice keeps melting; average Antarctic sea-ice coverage is 8.5% below the 20th century average, smallest on record on earth.

Climatologist Kathie Dello said, “earth is running a fever that won’t be break thanks to climate change. This won’t be the last record warm summer month that we will see.”
