Ilhan Omar, Muslim Congresswoman of US, has faced an increasing number of death threats since President Donald Trump tweeted a video repeatedly showing that she was dismissive of the 911 terror attacks in 2001. Omar issued a statement saying that Trump’s tweet on April 12 was endangering her life and accusing Trump of encouraging right-wing extremism.

Trump tweeted a video including a recent speech in which Omar talked about American-Islamic Relations to the Council and described the 911 terror attacks in 2001 as “some people did something.” The video also contained news footage of the airplanes hitting the World Trade Center with Trump’s caption: “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!”

A New York man has recently been charged with making death threats to Omar. Thus, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she would take measures to ensure the safety of Omar and asked Trump to take down the video.

However, the video was not deleted at all and instead appeared as a pinned one at Trump’s Twitter.
