Joe Biden Declares a $1.9 Trillion Covid-19 Relief Plan

On January 14th, US president-elect Joe Biden announced a $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief plan to stimulate American economy, one week before he enters the White House.

 

To defeat the deadly pandemic and the economic crisis it has initiated, Joe Biden proposed the aspiring and wide-ranging plan, including $200 billion to support vaccination, testing efforts, and other health-related programs, $350 billion for state and local governments, and $1 trillion for families, through direct payments of $1,400 to all Americans and unemployment insurance.

 

For the detailed coronavirus plan, Joe Biden invests $20 billion in vaccinating Americans, including establishing mass vaccination hubs and distributing mobile units to remote regions. In addition, Joe Biden would like to leverage $50 billion to increase testing and $130 billion to assist most of the schools reopen by the spring. The plan also includes employing 100,000 public health workers for contact tracing.
