On July 22, an unnamed nine-year-old girl, from Florida, was videoed while being attacked by a charging bison in Yellowstone National Park. Roaming with a group of about 50 tourists, she was suddenly tossed into the air and then landed in the dirt head-over-heels. According to CNN reports, she was sent to old Faithful Clinic for treatment before going home. No one was sure about her injuries.

The video was posted on Twitter by a bystander Hailey Dayton. Interviewed by NBC News two days later, she said she just tried to film how the bison eats when it suddenly tossed the girl with its head. She also mentioned that these tourists stood super close to the bison and some even petted it.

The National Park Service (NPS) declared the next day that the incident happened because the group of tourists stayed only a few meters away from the bison and made a lot of noise for at least 20 minutes. Tourists are advised to keep a safe distance of 25 yards away from large wild animals like bison.

Bison are wild, aggressive and uncontrolled. In the park, they have hurt the most people compared with the other animals there. Yellowstone reminds tourists to follow the rule there, respecting the park and the animals there.
