California state government has issued a statewide stay-at-home order on March 19 to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The California Department of Public Health has worked out Resilience Roadmap for initiating guidelines as California Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response. Meanwhile, California released the 4-stage recovery plan with guidelines as follows:
STAGE 1 Safety and preparedness: Make workplaces safe for our essential workers.
STAGE 2 Lower-risk workplaces: Gradually reopen retail (curbside only), manufacturing, and logistics. Later, relax retail restrictions, adapt and reopen schools, child care, offices, and limited hospitality, personal services.
STAGE 3 Higher-risk workplaces: Adapt and reopen movie theaters, religious services, and more personal and hospitality services.
STAGE 4 End of Stay Home Order: Reopen areas of highest risk: e.g. Concerts, conventions, sports arenas.

The original stay-at-home order for the Los Angeles County will expire on May 15. Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer has reportedly discussed the county’s COVID-19 response at May 12 Board of Supervisors meeting. Dr. Ferrer announced the extension of the county’s stay-at-home order for 3 more months in order to help suppress the spread of Coronavirus.

Data disclosed in the Los Angeles County as of May 7, there are 1,418 COVID-19 related deaths and a total of 29,427 Coronavirus infection cases. As Los Angeles County continues its plan to recovery, the county has modified the state’s California Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response and released a 5-stage recovery roadmap for a gradual relaxation of the Stay-At-Home measures. According to Dr. Ferrer’s statement, Los Angeles County will gradually lift social and business restrictions pending on infection cases and death rates, along with accommodate patients in local hospitals.
