On May 11th Human Rights Watch suggested Middle East and North Africa (MENA) governments not violent discipline of children.

According to an investigation, rate of children receive corporal punishment in MENA region is highest in the world.

Decades of studies have proved that violent discipline brings about negative effects personally or for families.  It even worsens educational results. On the other hand, terminating corporal punishment can create personal positive learning effects.

Putting an end to corporal punishment should be done right away. It will better help the development of children and the societies in a tremendous way, said Ahmed Benchemsi, Middle East and North Africa communications and advocacy director at Human Rights Watch.
