The smiling woman, an actor and model, Vicky Freeman, appeared on the front of Thursday’s budget document on the cover of the New Zealand government's latest budget. It is reported that she has given up on the country and moved to Australia because the cost of living and the unreasonable price of living in Auckland while working as an actress is too high.
“A friend just messaged me and said: ‘You’re all over the news’. And I was like ‘what, what have I done, I’m not even there, I’ve already relocated after shooting this photo’” Freeman told the New Zealand Herald.
Freeman usually has a sitter to take care of her daughter while working and she says, “I didn’t do it a lot because it made me feel unreasonable, paying a 15-year-old sitter more than what a single mum is making.”
"Nobody wants to live in a country where, despite a strong economy, families are homeless," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said last week. Thursday’s budget was featured as a world-first by the Labour coalition government and revealed record-levels of investment in mental health, child wellbeing to build up better family life with harmony.
