Welcome to the online program of A Month of Reunion, organized by Global People Daily News GPDN, an independent international news media.
The video we played at the beginning of the program is named "Prayer for the World". The Covid-19 epidemic is ravaging the world, and it seems that there is no end in sight. We hope that by spreading this prayer, we can circulate positive energy all over the world.
Family reunions are especially important during these difficult times around the world. Once a year, each region or nation has its own time for family gatherings. Christmas, Lunar New Year, Muharram, and other holidays bring families together. On these days, family members scattered across the country will rush home to be reunited, particularly the elderly who are looking forward to it.
Our first speaker, Danielle, a 75-year-old Swiss grandmother, is going to share her families about her Christmas reunion. For the most part it is a religious holiday, as she was a little girl. Over time, however, she dropped the religious connotation in favor of family gathering! It can be an opportunity to pay attention to a friend or write a message to others! Family meetings with her children and grandchildren makes her vibrant at Christmas.
Christmas is a beautiful celebration for some but not for all! She thinks of all these lonely people at home: either they have no family, or they are bereaved! Others have no money or must work that day! They finally wait for Christmas to pass very quickly to no longer see and hear the words "gifts - Christmas joy". On Christmas Day, she would like everyone to be happy, healthy, and surrounded by family. She would like Christmas to open a perspective of peace, love, joy, sharing between people and on that day, feel the tranquility, harmony and well-being for all! The fear of COVID has unfortunately increased social isolation and individualism. Therefore, she would like people to live by looking out for others, by being attentive to others and not just withdrawn into themselves, that they listen to each other more. She would like that these people who just manage to live for lack of means can receive more to have a decent life. These are her wishes for Christmas.
Next, Nigerian social worker, Smith Nwokocha, thanks the COVID-19 pandemic isn't all bad, but it's a good opportunity to strengthen our relationships with our families because we have more chances to be with and spend time with them.

She planned to go and attend all events of my friends and family by adopting precautions to protect me and others.
She visited her friends and family members and this pandemic bind them together. They had lunch together, dinner together, and breakfast together. Then they moved to their relatives to support them. They planned together to Plantation in their area, in their school, as this was Plantation drive already by their government in these days. She delivered some sessions on water conservation in the Rural areas and later on Financial Assistant & Support. She taught them the skills to earn and how to survive these days and after. They visited other places together, and felt others' pain. She realized the Love for Humanity in all. Then she started Virtual Conferences at someone’s residence, and gained a good amount of knowledge as well as public awareness.
