More Gang-rape Crimes Shake Uttar Pradesh

Within days after the gang-rape and brutal killing of a minor, 13-year-old girl, in Lakhimpur Kheri of Uttar Pradesh, India has been shaken by 2 more crimes of gang-rape in different districts of Uttar Pradesh.

 

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, while she was collecting water at the hand pump, and gang-raped in the Gola area of Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh on August 14. Police reported 2 men also brutalized the victim by burning her body with cigarette butts. In another incident, a 16-year-old girl was missing on August 15. Her body was found at a pond 2 days later and allegedly gang-raped by 3 youths in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The police officials have arrested 2 persons in this incidence.

 

Both 2 victims were found unconscious and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospitals. According to the statement of a senior police officer, a case of kidnapping, gangrape, and under sections of the POCSO Act would be registered against those accused men.
