A powerful snowstorm plummeted the US with heavy snow across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast states. The states, including New England, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and New York, have suffered severe weather conditions since this winter. The US National Weather Service recorded 10.5 inches (0.27 meters) of accumulated snow on December 17 in Manhattan’s Central Park.

Many regions had logged record high snowfalls, the amount exceeded the entire snowfall from last winter. According to the National Weather Service, there have been over 40 inches of snow in New Binghamton of New York, Litchfield of Pennsylvania, Hampshire of New England, and Ludlow in Windsor County of Vermont as well.

Reportedly the roof of Greater Binghamton Sports Complex, an air-supported dome in Union, New York, collapsed on the night of December 16 during the heavy snowfall. By far, there have been more than 600 car accidents and 2 deaths. Thus, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency for 18 counties due to the snowstorm.
