Earlier in April, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe considered it difficult to stage the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as originally scheduled to start in July amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, were reluctantly postponed for a year.
Coordination Commission Chair John Coates of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Executive Board received the Tokyo 2020 report prepared by the Organizing Committee’s President, Yoshiro Mori, and its CEO, Toshiro Muto on June 10. The Tokyo 2020 report gave updates on the planning and preparations for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Contrary to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's original plan of holding the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 in full form, under the principle for ensuring the health and safety of athletes and spectators, organizers have weighed over 200 proposals to simplify the games.
