Since February 24th, over 40,000 earthquakes happened in Grindavik, the southern part of the Reykjanes peninsula, Iceland.

Although Grindavik is a hotspot of volcano and temblor, the times of earthquake in Grindavik in recent weeks surpasses the total number throughout last year.

According to the government of Iceland, a volcanic outbreak is estimated on the peninsula in early March, probably leading to impressive lava fountains with 20 to 100 meters height in the air, while they won’t affect international air traffic or destroy crucial infrastructure in the neighborhood.
