Paris 2024 Logo Generates Discussions on Social Media

On Oct. 21st, Paris 2024 exposed the new logo for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 on its twitter, while the design received both compliments and ridicule. 

 

With the Olympic flame inside the gold medal, the new face for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games could also be seemed as the hair and lips of Marianne, the national personification of the French Republic since the French Revolution. The new logo stands for striving for excellence and reflecting the unique energy, which was admired by the organizers.

 

However, some social media users made fun of the logo, saying that it’s a modern Parisian woman rather than Marianne, and comparing it to the logo of dating app Tinder, or the advertisement for a hair salon or product.
