United States President Donald Trump has started a new plan to develop a new force in the space to prevent possible threats.

President Trump signed the Space Policy Directive-4 (SPD-4) to request the Pentagon to establish the Space Force within the United States military. Before he signed the document, he announced that Space Force would be the next step and the future plan.

President Trump initially proposed this concept of Space Force in March 2018. Generally, people considered it a joke. However, President Trump signed the directive order to create the new branch in June 2018. Up to now, many details to develop the new branch are still unclear. 

In the beginning, President Trump requested that Space Force should be an independent branch in the military department. Congress and the Pentagon suggested residing Space Force department as a part of the Air Force. 

According to the White House officials’ statement, the major purpose of the Space Force is to extend and to secure the United States’ dominance in the space. However, the proposal has been questioned from various fields. 

Last year, this Space Force proposal became a target from President Trump’s adversaries. Supporters of President Trump were happy to develop a new domain to secure the outer space. Opponents challenged the potential cost and the need to develop the Space Force. 

White House officials still considered that Space Force should be an independent branch. After various concerns from Congress, White House Officials would decide to concentrate on the mission to maintain the safety of outer space rather than to set up a department without any execution.
