Climate change is not only impacting temperature but also way more than what you may imagine. More than 11,000 scientists have co-signed a letter in the journal BioScience and publication appealing for a must action taken on climate.
Scientists coming from different countries all over the world have brought out warming of climate change causing harm to our nature. “In a worst-case scenario, impacts of climate change could set off a feedback loop, leading to economic losses, which lead to social and political disruption, which undermines both democracy and our capacity to prevent further climate damage,” Nicholas Stern, the chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics said.
Actually, a small group of scientists have met 40 years ago in Geneva for the world’s first climate conference; the warning of underestimated climate trend has been escalated. The signals of climate impact are getting clearer, such as rapidly disappearing sea ice, ocean heat, ocean acidity, sea level, and extreme weather events are all trending upwards. Furthermore, global tree cover loss, fossil fuel consumption, and carbon dioxide emissions related to human activities deserve our highly concern.
Threats can bring people together, or drive them apart. The changing trends need to be monitored by human beings, which are all people’s responsibility to respond to the climate emergency.
