COVID-19 has already killed more than 800,000 people worldwide. Even now the global is still trying hard to prevent COVID-19. However, it is possible that people will have the chance to get COVID-19 twice in a short period of time.

According to the study of Hong Kong University, a 33-year-old man tested positive to COVID-19 on March 26 and his symptoms were cough, fever, sore throat, and headache. After four-and-a-half months, this patient traveled to the United Kingdom and Spain. Then, this patient tested positive again. The patient did not show any symptoms in his second infection. This result suggests that patients infected with COVID-19 might get it multiple times.

In addition to Hong Kong, Marion Koopmans, head of the Erasmus MC Department of Virology, Marion Koopmans, head of the Erasmus MC Department of Virology, indicated that the re-infection situation also happened in Netherlands.

From the study of Hong Kong, we can know that the immune system works effectively to defeat infections when patients get it once again. Some experts proposed a different perspective. There is no guarantee to make sure your symptoms will get milder than the first time; on the other hand, you might get worse.

Experts are very cautious with the new findings but also remain alert to any rare cases. British researcher, Jeffrey Barrett, stated that it is too early to make a conclusion.
