Though Meghan Markle is applying for British citizenship, Harry and her large fortune is facing a tax nightmare for the royal family.

Since Meghan Markle still owns a US citizenship and the process to apply for citizenship to the British government will take years, she must be taxed by American government for any income or allowances, including her designer clothes, gifts and houses. Besides, her husband Prince Harry’s own fortune will also be affected, inclusive of his trust fund set up by the Queen Mother as well as Princess Diana.

Even the Queen and Prince Charles are faced with the critical observation of the US government, because they also provide the young couple with financial support. Buckingham Palace is reported to have to employ some experts on US tax to assist Meghan.
