Loch Duart, a company based in north-west Scotland, invests in forensics to ensure the reputation of its products.

The goal of the company is to provide the reliable product for consumers in the United States and Canada to defeat the food fraud. Loch Duart would also like to allow consumers to know where its salmons are from.

Food fraud cost global organization approximately USD 50 billion each year. The horsemeat scandal was one of the biggest food frauds in 2013. The cheap meat was purposely labeled as high-end products. This scandal also influenced to the industry of olive oil and coffee.

Andy Bing, the co-founder and sales director of Loch Duart, established the company 20 years ago. He stated that it was illegal to misplace the content of products but it was hard to figure out. He also showed his determination to alter this negative measure in the business.

In order to protect the brand, Loch Duart works with Oritain from 2017. Oritain is the company based in New Zealand. It uses science and technology method to identify where the salmon are exactly from. Mr. Bing has been working in the salmon industry for 30 years. He stated that nature elements will give every specific maker to differ from the origins of salmon. This significant technique makes Loch Duart confidently provide their salmon to any restaurants, consumers, or the market.

Mr. Bing also mentioned this technique can be applied to the food and drink industry.

Mr. Bing believes that the trade deal for Scottish salmon is just like the demanding of the Scottish whisky.
