Queensland has been battered by scattered bushfires for many months. Especially, its south-east region has been hit by heavy rains and floods since December 13.

The Environment Department reported Bribie Island had high tides around Pumicestone Passage. Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology forecasted and warned people to stay away from floods and surfing these days. So far it has already poured as much as 400mm of rain in parts of south-east Queensland. The forecasters keep warning there will be more rain to come.

A number of roads have been reportedly flooded across the Sunshine Coast after heavy rain overnight and strong wind gusts in some areas. The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service has announced it will undertake a damage assessment over various sites as soon as the weather turns normal.
