Tesco suspends avocado supplier amid investigation into alleged human rights abuse

Tesco recently stopped one of its avocado providers because of the investigation of human right violation. Tesco is the biggest U.K. merchandise retailer and known for its grocery stores. The violation happened on a Kenyan farm belonged to a subsidiary named Kakuzi of Tesco’s provider, Camellia Plc.

 

Kakuzi’s human right violation included that the security guards raped women and some of them were pregnant. And other men and women are severely hit and injured. One was stricken to lose his life as a reported avocado theft.

 

Kakuzisaidon Oct. 12 that the anonymous reporthad obstacle the investigation. However, it declared that they wouldcontinue their workers’ welfare and not tolerate any illegal actions as well.
