Military members in the United States are not willing to take covid-19 vaccines. Currently, according to the statement of Pentagon, major reasons to refuse take this vaccine are not clear.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Jeff Taliaferro stated the low rate of acceptance to take COVID-19 vaccines. Around thousands of service members in United States have refused to take this vaccine. According to the National Security Reporter of Associated Press, many service members considered that the syndromes of getting COVID-19 were not that bad. However, most of them were worried about the side effect of taking vaccines to influence their normal life.

Spokesperson of Pentagon, John Kirby, explained that vaccines are now proved as emergency basis and military services did not receive any approval from the Federal Drug Administration to officially take vaccines. This might be one of reasons to have the low rate of vaccination.

Leaders in military services now eager to promote the benefit of taking vaccine. They hoped that the Federal Drug Administration might change the standards of vaccination. Therefore, Department of Defense in the United States will be able to design the plan for military members and their family to understand the necessity of taking this vaccine.

Kirby believed that the acceptance of vaccinations in the military services is higher the general public. He noted that Minister of Defense, Lloyd Austin, have already vaccinated. The action of Minister of Defense showed that service members should take good care of their health to prevent this pandemic.
