The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in Australia reported that a pair of deer were surprisingly spotted first in Leichhardt Streets of Sydney in the early morning of October 6. Local residents called and informed the police that the pair were running and jumping along streets in suburban Annandale, Balmain, and Leichhardt.

Immediately the police and animal rescuers started to chase these 2 deer through Sydney's inner-west. The RSPCA reported one of the pair was then tracked down in a residential courtyard and captured by rescuers. However, the other deer remains still at large.

The sightings of this pair of deer were also caught on video camera wandering down the streets of Sydney's inner-west. In addition, officials continued to look for where the deer came from. Earlier in a similar incident this year, Sydney residents were startled by 3 baboons roaming down streets in another suburban area. The baboons were later investigated by authorities, finding that the animals escaped from a visit scheduled to have vasectomy at a nearby hospital.
