UN experts have released a report to address a human rights violation issue in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia. According to the report, the majority of victims are Vietnamese women and girls who are poor and underprivileged. Following these tragedies, traffickers have received no punishment.

Experts urged the government to protect these workers and assume responsibility for their safety. They emphasized some serious issues. Some young women and girls were sexually abused and tortured. After these girls signed their employment contracts, some labor recruitment companies forged their ages and created forged documents. Experts shared a case in the report. In Saudi Arabia,  a 15-year-old Vietnamese girl was tortured by her employers, thrashing her. There was no food or medical treatment available to her while she became so ill. She was supposed to fly back to Vietnam. She, on the other hand, was unable to make it. She died before she could return home.

Between September 3 and October 28, 2021, approximately 205 women were victims of trafficking and were returned to Vietnam. Finally, experts urged nations to combat human trafficking in person and to launch an investigation to learn more about the details. It is past time for official authorities to intervene and accept legal responsibility in order to prevent future tragedies of human rights violations.
