Over 870,000 persons who fled to other countries since the Russian invasion on February 24 have already returned to Ukraine, according to the UN's latest emergency update, released on April 14, raising fears over the country's food security.

According to the UN humanitarian coordination office, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, 30,000 people enter back into Ukraine every day, referencing the State Border Guard Service. Humanitarian aid has reached 2.1 million of Ukraine's 12 million people in need, and the UN's $1.1 billion urgent appeal for Ukraine is already 64% financed.

Furthermore, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has indicated that almost three out of ten oblasts are experiencing urgent food insecurity, with another 11% of oblasts (partly exposure to war) predicting shortages in two months.

In addition, according to UNAIDS, around 250,000 Ukrainians are living with HIV, and a lack of access to antiretroviral therapy and preventative programs would result in a wave of deaths and a recurrence of Ukraine's AIDS pandemic.
