In accordance with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), there are 45 violations against the children every day in the 2010s. The grave mistreatment includes killing, maiming, sexual violence, and recruitment of children. Henrietta Fore, executive director of UNICEF, pointed out that the lasting warfare led to more bloodletting, taking away children’s lives.

The brutal wars put children in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and elsewhere in danger. According to the analysis from Save The Children, about 6.9 children in Europe and Asia are encountering winter with temporary asylum, including 2.5 million from Syria and 300,000 from eastern Ukraine.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child was added in international law since 1989 to protect children in war zones. Nonetheless, the number of children suffering from devastating wars is getting higher and higher. More than 170,000 violations against the younger were authenticated by the United Nations in the 2010s.
