More and more countries are reporting their confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus as the infectious disease continues to spread out globally. Most recently the World Health Organization (WHO) has updated the coronavirus outbreak to a public health emergency, the illness inevitably poses an imminent threat to people’s lives and puts our communities at risk.

It is commonly known that this infectious disease may well spread through coughing, sneezing and perhaps talking from a coronavirus infected person. Thus it has triggered a worldwide panic whereas people are rushing to buy masks as a means of prevention against coronavirus.

To deal with the shortage of facemasks to health care providers, US Surgeon General Jerome M. Adams and other experts have advised the general public to stop buying masks. Adams said on March 1 that people may increase their risk of contracting the coronavirus by wearing a mask improperly. Adams warned that people wearing masks seemingly tend to touch their faces with unwashed hands and actually can increase the spread of coronavirus.
