Wildfires in the west coast of the United States turned the skies into orange recently. During the daytime, residents in northern California, especially the Bay Area, thought that they were in the nighttime.

The unusual skies in the Bay area were caused by the recently wildfires in California. According to the CNN meteorologist, Judson Jones, when the smoke and ash descend closer to the surface, the smoke would get thicker, and this situation would completely block out the sunlight and turn into the dark night.

Some residents showed the photo of orange and abnormal skies on social media. Some residents felt like they lived on Mars. People are curious about the orange skies. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District explained on the twitter and stated that smoke particles from the wildfires would only allow yellow-orange-red light to present on the surface.

This abnormal phenomenon caused some concerns from certain fields of experts and professionals. Gleick is the founder of the Pacific Institute. It is a nonpartisan institute of climate and water research center in Oakland. He said that this is the sign of climate change. Climate change caused more wildfire recently. The unusual weather apparently caused higher temperature, more drought, and extremely gusty winds.

Governor Kate Brown in Oregon stated this is an important event in history because wildfires caused the huge loss of human beings and people’s property.
