The World Health Organization is currently monitoring new coronavirus variants known as Mu. It is known scientifically as the B.1621.

This new variant could be resistant to vaccination.

This variant has been found in at least 37 different countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hong Kong. Columbia has the most confirmed cases of the Mu variant.

According to the WHO report, the confirmed cases of mu are now 39% in Columbia and 13% in Ecuador. The WHO also warned about the possibility of vaccine resistance. However, experts indicated that the more databases used to prove this possibility, the more accurate it is.

There have been a few confirmed cases of this new variant in the United States. According to the open data website Outbreak.info, 1,953 cases of mu variants were confirmed in the United States. According to the statistics, less than 1% of the population is infected with mu variants.

The United States is concerned about the spread of the Mu variant. During a White House briefing, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that M variants have not been invaded in the United States, but that they will be monitored. It is not a direct threat.

Due to the concern about M variants, experts are debating the need for a third dose of vaccinations. The Food and Drug Administration received applications for booster plans, but it takes time to review and approve them.
